The history of Nîmes goes back to Roman times – and many superb monuments bear witness to that period. Then there are all the quaint old streets, cafés, elegant gardens, intimate restaurants, amazing food market, and so much more….
Being so centrally located, the apartment puts you within a short walking distance of all the most important monuments and features of the town.:
The “Fontaine Gardens” with its ornamental canal – just a one minute walk away.
The “Carré d’Art” library, exhibition centre, recital and lecture room plus art gallery and excellent restaurant designed by Norman Foster and built on the site of the former theatre – opposite the apartment.
La Maison Carré – one of the few remaining Roman Temples that has survived intact to this day – opposite the Carré d’Art
The Roman arena – one of the very best preserved arenas from the period – and one that is regularly used for staging a variety of events (even operas!) – just 10 minutes away.
You will also enjoy being only 5 minutes’ walk from one of the very finest food markets in France.
The freshest fish and seafood from the Mediterranean, the most amazing selection of cheeses, specialities, wines, etc. Open every day from 7 am to 1 pm.
You should never be at a loss for gastronomic inspiration. But if you are, there are plenty of delightful restaurants to try out, all offering a wide range of “ambience” and dishes at very reasonable prices. We will be delighted to recommend our favourites!
